For an adult as much as for a child, seeing an animal in the wild is a delightful and exciting experience! One thing we know for sure, the world looks better from the bush.
For many of us, the love of the Kruger National Park, starts from a very young age. Memories of holidays spent together on long game drives in the back of a kombi, dinners under the highway of stars, and the smell of citronella candles and insect repellent.
Our eyes and hearts opened to this magical place – exploring its dusty roads, asking questions, sharp eyes looking into the long grass for a sighting, sitting quietly and waiting patiently.
The Mdluli Explorers program is inspired by this youthful curiosity, and is focused on instilling a deep-seated inquisitiveness and respect for the wildlife, fauna and flora around us.
We want to continue to nurture a love for nature and its wonder in the generations that follow.
The Mdluli Explorers program runs during the school holidays, and is designed nurture the curious minds of kids, and also offer parents some often much-needed time and space to lie back, relax and take in the quiet of the African bush.
“My first trip to the Kruger was so exciting. I couldn’t wait to see the animals! My favorite part was the morning drives – yummy hot chocolate and rusks.
I took photos of the animals with dad’s camera and showed all my friends when I got back to school. These animals are so special and we have to protect them. When I grow up I want to be a ranger”
Matthew, age 8
