What is the location of the lodge? Are you inside the Park?

We are located inside the Kruger National Park. Please click here to access the lodge on Google Maps.

Which is the closest access gate to the Lodge?

The closest access gate is Numbi Gate. After entering the Numbi Gate, before the Numbi control point, you will turn right and follow the road approx 6km (20 minutes depending on sightings) until you reach the lodge main gate.

Do I have to take Malaria medication?

The lodge is located inside the south-western region of the Park. Despite it being a lower area for malaria, and having had no incidents of malaria at the lodge, we still recommend you take the necessary precaution. There is a mosquito net over the main bed in your tent.

What is the time for check-in and check-out?

Our standard check-in time is from 14H00 until gate closing time

Check-out is from 06H00 until 10H00

Can I check in earlier / check out later?

Early check-in and late departure can be arranged, subject to availability and the arrival/departure of other guests. Please enquire with our reservations team.

If I arrive after gate closing time, can I still check-in, and what is the procedure?

For all late arrivals, please contact the lodge reception as we will need to arrange specific permission to give you access, which will incur a later entry fee.

What are the dining options?

We offer an a la Carte lunch menu (and occasionally breakfast and dinner mid-week). Alternatively, and on weekends, we serve buffet breakfasts and dinners.

Do you cater for vegetarians / pescatarians?

Yes, our chefs prepare various meal options for the buffet dinners that cater for both, as well as our a la carte menu.

What are meal times?

Breakfast is served from 06H00 – 19H45 Lunch can be ordered between 11H00 – 16H00 Dinner is served from 18H00 – 21H00, either in the boma or in our restaurant

Can guests have lunch while at the lodge?

Yes, our restaurant serves lunch daily, and you can enjoy your meal in our restaurant, at the deck or by the pool. 

Does the hotel have a parking facility?

Yes, we do have on-site, complimentary parking.

Does the lodge offer transfers/shuttle service to and from airports? 

Yes we can arrange a transfer to and from the lodge. Please contact our reservations team to enquire or make a booking.

Do you have a spa?

We do offer spa treatments in the privacy and comfort of your tent. Please make your booking with our reception team on, or prior to arrival.

Do you have gym facilities?

Unfortunately the gym’s opening was delayed due to COVID, but we hope to have it open soon.

Does the lodge have Wifi?

We do offer complimentary wifi. For the most part the wifi is reliable, but we do experience occasional issues with the signal, given our location in the middle of the bush.

Do you offer any special treatments for birthdays, anniversaries, honeymooners?

There are various options we can arrange for you, including a romantic turndown in your tent, or private sundowners up on our granite rock. Please contact our reception team prior to your arrival for more information.

Is there an area to watch sport on TV?

Yes, there is a large TV in the deck area. It remains off, given the serenity of the surroundings, but does get turned on for guests wanting to watch sports matches.

Are children allowed on game drives/bush walks?

Bush walks are for ages 12+ Unfortunately, children under the age of 3 years are not allowed on any game drives. Of course, you are welcome to self drive in the park. You may make use of, or purchase a WildCard.

Where do the game drives take place?

All of our game drives and bush walks take place inside the Kruger National Park.

What time are the game drives?

06H00-09H00 / 06H00-12H00 / 14H00-18H00/ 15H00-18H00 / 16H30-19H30

What is your cancellation policy?

If your travel plans change, you can cancel or modify your reservation in accordance with the lodge’s cancellation policy.

Do you offer PCR tests?

PCR tests can be done at the lodge prior to departure. Please enquire at reception upon arrival.

Room space, extra beds for children?

Each of our 50 luxury tents are the same size and layout, and can accommodate two adults and two children, younger than 12 years, sharing. A double sleeper couch is converted into a bed for the 2 children.

What are the conservation fees?

Conservation fees, payable to SANParks, increase each year on the 1st of November. As of 1 November 2021 the fees are as follows:

South African Citizens and Residents (with ID) – R110 per adult per day and R55 per child per day

SADC Nationals (with passport) – R220 per adult per day and R110 per child per day

Standard Conservation Fee (International Visitors) – R440 per adult per day and R220 per child per day

What is the Community Levy?

This levy is R44 per person per night over the age of 12. This levy is paid directly to the Mdluli Community, on whose land the lodge is built. You can read more about our unique partnership with the Mdluli Community here.

Why is the single rate more expensive?

The price per person for single occupancy is higher than the price per person sharing. When two people travel together the cost is divided between them, meaning double occupancy only reflects a lower rate.

What is the minimum number of nights I can book? 

One night stay may be booked. Please note, some specials do require a minimum of 2 nights. All information will be on the packages page on our website.

Do you have discounted rates for senior citizens?

We don’t offer specific specials for senior citizens, but we do run year-round specials on our rates, valid for anyone booking at the time. Our website always lists our current rates and specials.

What are the payment procedures?

The payment procedures are the same as the Deposit requested. (Please note: No Amex or Diners Cards are accepted).

Is there a percentage deposit required to guarantee the booking? 

To guarantee your reservation a 50% deposit is required and full payment is due 14 days before arrival day.

Do you have a credit card card facility at the lodge? Which cards are accepted?

Yes. We accept Visa and Mastercard.

Our brand new lodge is uniquely designed in that:
Each luxury tent is positioned at a distance of at least 15m from the adjacent tent, with a private access walkway and private patio.
The open architecture of the public areas allows for fresh air flows and expansive spaces to be very comfortably socially distanced from other guests.
