Seasonal rates

11 January to 31 March

The bush is at its fullest after the summer rains.

Everything is green and thick. You’re likely to see young animals during this period.

Birdlife is constant, with migratory species moving through.

Days are warm (±28–32°C), often building into late afternoon storms. Evenings stay mild (±20–22°C).

Fewer travellers create a more personal, unhurried experience.

Works well for more flexible travel plans.

1 April to 30 June

The landscape begins to open through Autumn. The bush is less dense, so visibility improves.

Sightings become more consistent, not because there’s more wildlife — but because you can actually see it.

Days are still warm (±24–28°C), with cooler evenings (±12–16°C).

It’s easy to be out for long stretches, and just as easy to come back for a swim or sit out on the deck.

Ideal for longer stays.

1 July to 31 August

It’s the wintery dry season, with more animals making their way to the watering hole in front of the lodge.

Expect sightings from the restaurant, deck and the bar.

Mornings are more chilly (±6–10°C), especially before the sun comes up – a special experience with blankets, hot coffee or hot chocolate as that first light breaks over the bush. Days warm up to a comfortable ±20–24°C.

This is when sightings are at their clearest.

Best planned well in advance to ensure availability.

1 September to 12 December

Spring is yet another special time in the bush as birdlife picks up again, as migratory species return, and as the bush starts to rejuvenate after winter.

Days and evenings are warmer (±28–34°C).

An in-demand time to travel.

12 December to 10 January

Summer arrives quickly.

Following the first rains, the bush is thick and green.

Days are hot (±30–35°C), perfect for long swims with sightings from the pool.

Later sunsets and hot nights under the stars (±22–24°C).

High demand – we recommend booking early.
